Headstrong: All about brain tumours

Brain tumours are the most common form of solid tissue cancer in young children. Each year 350 children are newly diagnosed with a brain tumour and approximately 2,500 in the seven to 12 age group are living with one. Research has shown that children urgently need information and support to help them understand and cope with their condition.

To meet this need, the Brain and Spine Foundation worked with an advisory panel of experts including Great Ormond Street Hospital, paediatric oncologists, play specialists, children's writers and graphic designers as well as children and their parents to develop a multi-media information resource.

Headstrong consists of two publications (one aimed at younger children; the other at older children), a CD-ROM and a specially designed website.
